Are you feeling overwhelmed, disoriented, or discouraged by your online promotional efforts? Do you often market your web site without a solid plan? The answer can be found by learning the basics of marketing and sales.

By creating a marketing calendar, you will systematically discover why 90% of all business owners never reach their goals, and how you can continuously achieve or exceed every goal you ever set.

So, how do you become more efficient and profitable with a marketing calendar?

Your marketing calendar should address specific needs. Break it down into days and weeks of the year. Address your marketing and advertising activities that will take place each week. Be specific by scheduling individual promotions and events. Roll out your campaigns according to the scheduled time and most importantly, track the clicks, cost, and conversions.

I have personally found it best, in my experience, to include the channels of promotion and marketing cost for each campaign. Record the results you receive from that channel. Doing this is easy to see at a glance which events, targets, and strategies were productive.

The data that you collect is important in planning your marketing in the future. Remember to be flexible when you create your calendar as tasks and events have to be moved around to accommodate efficient marketing.

You can avoid being overwhelmed with confusion by keeping and following a marketing calendar. In a nutshell, being more organized with your marketing and sales will enable you to finally become a legend in your marketplace’s mind, and by doing so, multiply your marketing effectiveness, impact and profits many times over.

I asked a friend of mine, a smart marketer and a blogger this question – in the hopes of finding ‘new challenges’ that many experienced and newbies are facing right now.

“What is the single most frustration and road block, individual marketers are facing these days?

The answer didn’t surprise me a bit, because I can personally relate to it at many levels.

Here’s what he said:

“Most marketers have a lot of information at their disposal. Often ‘too much information’ on what to do in order to – find a product to promote, build a website, and even drive a few visitors to their website.

But the single most challenging thing for them is ‘Finding Reliable Partners’ and ‘Connections’ who can help them get more traffic, prospective leads and customers.”

It’s true, “No business is an island on it’s own”.

Solid connections are key to success for any business – offline or online, Big Multi Billion Dollar Businesses, Small Businesses, Startup Businesses, or Entrepreneurs aspiring to start a business.

Sure, you can find any number of joint venture partners who are ready to plug into your lists and suck it dry. But it’s hard to find people who genuinely see the potential benefits for BOTH parties.

So, I know how tough it is to find the right ‘match’ and ‘partnership’ – who will connect with you long-term.

Rent-A-List was created in 2001 as a solution for those individuals and businesses to partner with and plug into established sources of hungry traffic for more leads and sales on demand.

This business was founded in four basic truths:

1. Most Businesses are run by living, breathing people, who are ‘value-driven’

2. Businesses are built on ‘trust worthy relationships’ between people

3. Every business was once a ’small business’ struggling to grow

4. You can ‘partner and plug in’ to other businesses and grow faster

These are four truths that we believe in when we consult with a new client, interact with our existing clients, offer a service, or launch a new product.

Way too many hard working online business owners are lonely in their own business.

They struggle to expand their reach by themselves, and are often disappointed with the results and relationships they have with other joint venture partners.

Small businesses in every market now have a website and enormous potential to increase their productivity in local markets and Internationally. But, many of them are stuck when it comes to reaching their target market successfully. You don’t have to be alone anymore.

We offer free and straight forward consultation to anyone who wish to reach hungry traffic for more leads and sales on demand.

If you ever wanted to find the right source and a partner in business — where you can plug in to established sources of hungry traffic for more leads and sales on demand, then Rent-A-List is the answer.

Headlines abound in print and online everyday. But, on the Internet, the words you use can make all the difference in the world. To begin writing powerful, attention grabbing headlines, it is wise to know what words will make the most impact and what type of dialects for effective conversation.

The reader of your headline may not be convinced to read more. If you’re doing business on the Internet, write down all the benefits of your product or service. Combine these benefits with a collection of headlines and study them. Read each one to find one that interests you, but only choose one that will match your prospect’s point of view. The most important strategy to remember is isolate the most important customer benefit and use it to create your headline. Once you have the benefits in place, simply add in some words of emotion.

There are eight types of headlines. The difference between good and bad headlines are the principles of action. This also means means discovering new customers where they were not previously known to exist.

Type Of Headline

1. Command – Tell what you want the reader to do.
2. Testimonial – Your customer helps you sell it.
3. Reason Why – Give your reader reasons to read it.
4. Question – Ask with their self interest in mind.
5. Benefit – Motivate your reader with action words.
6. How To – Provide information, solutions, advice.
7. Guarantee – Reinstate more desirable benefits.
8. News – Newsworthy announcements on change, success.

The length should make a huge bottom-line difference to give your reader enough interest. Try not to confine their participation, but act as if you were face-to-face with them. Treat them as if you were in their shoes, seeking service for themselves. The easiest way to make sure your headline is doing its job is to make a checklist.

Headline Checklist – Does Your Headline…

1. Communicate the strongest customer benefit?
2. Answer the question: “What’s in it for me?”
3. Offer a reward for reading?
4. Make it clear and direct?
5. Communicate a complete message?
6. Get attention with a powerful sales message?
7. Motivate your prospect to keep reading?
8. Speak directly to your target prospect?
9. Make it interesting to your prospects, or does it bore them?

By studying the mistakes most entrepreneurs and professionals make by failing to write compelling headlines will prove to you first-hand how cutting edge opportunities are made. Competition is completely unavoidable. It occupies a large chunk of the minds of many in business. Whatever you fear most for your business, you can probably look forward to overcoming that threat from these headline writing ideas.

The way you manage your marketing will often determine how you are treated in return.

As time moves on, advertising methods appear stale or routinely common in the eyes of your prospects. A king notably respects his potential and motivates the same in others. By acting confident in your marketing powers, it accelerates your sales performance.

A new business owner typically starts out setting up new endorsements and promotions in great demand. This type of approach usually carries over into the marketing plan as the company grows older. In order to break through the boundaries, which hold most businesses back, you must force yourself to go the opposite direction. This does not mean to ignore your failures, but give your Internet target market a better solution.

The solution can be solved in any form of advertising you are currently using. However, your online market must be made up of people who need and want your product or service. Utilize all your resources to find and be found by your potential customers. Make a list of all the places they can be found, and all the ways they can find you. Work each list one at a time and as budget allows. Track, test, and record all results. Build on your successes and learn from failures.

Current Sales And Marketing Problem List

No plan or strategy 38.0%
No experience 12.9%
New business 9.4%
Increase customer base 8.4%
Small budget 7.9%
Do not generate leads 8.8%
Do not convert 6.7%
Low price competition 4.5%

Percentage and variable-based success show average rate of the product or service itself is as a marketing resource. Having something unique provides motivation behind advertising. While the ideas mentioned apply here, another option is to change or modify the product or service.

Additional attention may be given to a product if it has changed color, size, or style, while a service may draw similar attention by modifying the services provided. Remember, sales and promotional opportunities are generated by product differentiation.

Online Marketing Goals:

Get more clients 20.4%
Increase profits 16.5%
More sales 18.7%
New leads 12.3%
Name awareness 7.8%
Retain clients 5.8%
Increase market share 4.6%
Close more sales 3.2%

Once you have located your marketing by segments and predefined goals are in place, keep in mind you now have a few tricks up your sleeve. It is really no trick at all, but a form of confidence and knowledge. Your prospective customer is the one whom must understand or make a decision to contact you, or do business with you. The trick is simple: Be seen by, read by, or heard by enough people with a clear presentation and understand and care about the prospects you are calling upon.

I just received a case study and a quick testimonial from Wyteria Jacabo from Orlando, Florida. Wyteria has been in the network marketing business for about 10 years.

Here’s what Wyteria says…

“The main reason for me trying out Rent-A-List to promote my websites is because I needed ‘quick results’ and wanted to ‘quick-start my marketing business’. I am ecstatic about the results. My first and the second campaign with rent-a-list did extremely well. I’m kicking myself because I saw your site when I first came online 2 years ago, but my skepticism got the best of me. Rent-a-list works!

I just paid $22 for a 1000 email drop with another company and did not get a single sign up. I already posted a post on my blog about my campaign results and it’s only day 2! Keep on doing what you are doing and don’t change a thing!” Wyteria Jacobo.

Thanks for taking some time and giving us your feedback, Wyteria. We really appreciate it. The truth is people will rave about all kinds of products and services, but when it comes to ‘real advertising sources’ that produce great results, most people keep it to themselves for fear of competition stealing their business.

Your marketing rivals will probably never tell you their results with Rent-A-List promotions. In business, I guess it’s normal for most people to keep the good sources for themselves – for fear of scarcity. The good news is, that the rent-a-list network is ABUNDANT with thousands of new subscribers joining our lists EVERYDAY!

There is room for everyone. With our ‘Everyday Low Prices’ – it gets even better.

You can start your ad campaigns in less than 10 minutes and have interested prospects visiting your websites within hours.

The gold is in your backyard – Don’t overlook it.

Wishing You All The Success,

Want to know what this is?

It’s called List Segmenting…

Now you may be thinking that this would be too complicated to do, or it’s too late to do it. With the right tools this feature can be a snap.

Let me explain what this is all about…

Most marketers have a huge list and they send all kinds of crap to their big list and hope to make some money. But that’s not how the really big boys do it.

You can reverse-engineer and implement some of the cool stuff these guys use to bring in record breaking conversions from each one of their campaigns – and you don’t need a million dolla’ budget to do that.

Now what’s this ‘list segmentation’ stuff, you ask?

It’s simply arranging your current list in the right order…

You know.. according to demographics, gender, cold prospects, hot prospects, paying customers, and things like that.

Here are three ways you can segment your lists to see super conversions from your list marketing:

Product Based – This should be a no-brainer. Build lists that are targeted to a specific niche.

Gender Based – Women buy certain products and men buy certain products. Craft your message for the gender that you are talking to and increase your conversions that way.

Purchase Based – Move your paying customers from your main list to a different list. Offer them your high end products.

Now, I know that your current list management software may not allow you to do these things. If it doesn’t allow you to segment your lists, try iMediaMarketingTools.com. There is a 30 day trial offer.

Try this simple technique and watch your conversions skyrocket. The few minutes you spend to segment your list will make a huge difference in your actual results.

Driving Daily Traffic To Build Your Lists is easy too…

On the other hand, if you are still struggling to build your main list because of low traffic to your landing pages, you’ll be thrilled to know that Rent-a-list advertising services are available at ‘Everyday Low Prices’.

It’s fun and profitable to run a business on the Internet. With the right resources and tools, you can achieve the best of both worlds. Freedom and Money.

Have a profitable day!

Proof has been called the most important tool for exceptional success in selling. We are going to list 3 ways you can do just that, but first things first.

As you probably know, FTC now requires that all your testimonials are as transparent as possible.

If you are posting a testimonial claiming results in figures, ‘results not typical’ on the disclaimer will not work anymore. You have to tell your viewers what your ‘Typical results are’. Just wanted to clarify that.

The story is told of a little meeting arranged by a famous, very successful attorney. They were discussing a trial that was to begin shortly. The client had the risk of serving 20 years or more, should these lawyers fail.

The attorney asked his associates for their comments, and a young lawyer said the following: “I’m confident that we have gathered enough proof for you to prove his innocence.”

The attorney rose up, grabbed his young associate by the neck and said in an almost threatening voice: “Don’t ever send me into a courtroom with enough’ proof. I want a preponderance of proof.”

Make sure that you have an overwhelming amount of proof that what you are selling is a great deal, and you will be able to close sales like a champion. A lot of businesses either fail to use proof at all, or use it poorly.

Here are 3 great ways you can prove your worth to your customers and close a lot more sales in the process.

1. Let Them Say It for You! The Power of Testimonials.

Dan Kennedy once gave a sign to his coaching clients with the following message: “Let THEM say it for you!” That’s how important he thought it was, in order to increase sales. Savvy consumers are skeptical to whatever comes out of the mouth of a sales person. Their guard comes up right away, but here’s the great news:

If you decide to let your existing clients say it for you instead, that skepticism and sales resistance will melt away like ice in the sun. Consumers are likely to believe testimonials from customers who are already using the product or service. So make sure you collect testimonials and display them on your site, in emails and promotional literature.

Testimonials can be your best friend, and it will definitely hurt your profits if you neglect this important part of the sales process. Remember that what others say about your product or service is at least 1,000 times more convincing, than what you say.

2. Use Statistics If Possible.

When meeting a new audience, a well known marketer often displays the results from a survey made among his existing clients. 98% reported satisfaction. 83% reported improved sales. 87% made additional purchases. Do you think this can work as a clincher for people on the verge of buying his product? You bet! That’s why he’s using statistics.

You can do the same. Perform a survey among existing clients, and display the results to help you sell more of your product or service.

3. A Picture Is Worth a Thousand Words.

The cliche is true: A picture is worth a thousand words. Perhaps you’ve noticed that a lot of ClickBank products in the “make money”-niche show one or more screenshots of earnings to prove they know what they’re doing. Pictorial proof is both interesting and convincing for the consumer.

The following story illustrates how testimonials in the form of pictures can take care of the selling for you: Back when the cash register was a brand new invention, the late top salesman Ira Hayes made sure he carried with him a black fabric panel. On that panel were thousands of pictures of happy customers standing next to their new cash register.

Because the proof was overwhelming the sale was made before the selling had even started.

Let me add in closing that there are lots of other things you can use to boost the credibility of your business: The length of time in business, numbers of customers served, past credentials etc. Whatever you decide to use, make sure to use proof extensively. You already know your business is great. Let your future customers know it as well.

Proof is, without a doubt, the best way to clinch the deal for your future clients.

Google Slap

I’ve got to admit that Google has been my main source of my traffic, since I discovered Google Adwords a few years ago. My first campaigns were nothing but flops, and I never even got a single sale in my early pay-per-click days.

After a while, though, I started to get the hang of it – started to see what was working – and ended up spending around $43,000 a year with Google. Great was my surprise when the mighty search giant simply shut my account down recently. “Is this the way to reward an faithful advertiser who has spent a big amount of advertising dollars?”, I thought to myself. It almost felt unreal.

Getting my account shut down?!! Hey, what had I ever done to hurt Google? As it turned out, my “crime” was that I had been linking to affiliate offers that had pop ups on their sites.

The amazing thing is that I have yet to hear of anyone who has been banned by Google ever getting their account reinstated. Having this happen to me actually made me feel like some sort of criminal. But I soon figured out I was not alone.

As recent as yesterday, I received a newsletter from a “pay-per-click guru” revealing that dozens of his customers had now received the dreaded “You’ve Been Banned by Google” emails over the last week. It’s nothing new that Google dislikes re-bill offers, like those that are being used to sell business opportunities, weight loss and teeth whitening products.

What is special this time around is that even people promoting ClickBank products, own products etc have been hit by this most recent Google slap. According to the aforementioned PPC Guru, even a company that had been spending one million dollars a year with Google Adwords selling their own coffee product was banned without explanation.

It’s hard to see why Google should start clamping down on some of these products, but at the core, Google is trying to protect a “good user experience” for their users. I don’t think anyone will ever know all the answers as to why Google is acting this way, but the most important thing is simply to be prepared for the worst, if you’re an advertiser.

Here are 2 tips that will make sure your business is not going down, whatever Google decides to do with your account in the future:

1. Never Put All Your Traffic Eggs in One Basket – Not Even in the Huge Google Basket!

Some marketers have had as much as 70-100% of their traffic coming from Google Adwords. That’s a pretty scary thought, when you consider that one of those “You’ve Been Banned by Google” emails could show its ugly head in your inbox before you get started on your next cup of coffee!

These folks will go from having an online business one day, to having to apply for an OFFLINE job the next day. So please heed this warning: If you’re heavily dependent on Google for traffic, you’d better start looking for additional traffic sources immediately, to spread the risk.

2. Do Not Replace Your Google Traffic with One New Traffic Source Only!

Do not make the big mistake of replacing your Google traffic with one new traffic source only. There is absolutely no reason why you should feel relaxed and confident, if all you do is add one more traffic source to your marketing efforts.

Ideally you should have 4 or 5 traffic sources to really spread the risk and diversify your traffic generation. One single traffic source should probably not account for more than maximum 25% of your total traffic.

When it comes to PPC, you’re much less likely to run into trouble when using the Second Tier pay-per-click networks.

I will therefore jump at the chance to repeat the following list of 5 alternative PPC networks that we told you about not long ago:
1. AdClickMedia.com
2. AdBrite.com
3. Bidvertiser.com
4. Clicksor.com
5. ValueClickMedia.com

Now go diversify your traffic! Best of luck.

Let me tell you a little secret: I’m on the email list of a pretty well known internet marketer, but I hate it when his emails arrive. To be honest, I totally loathe it.

I hit the Delete button so hard, I’m worried my laptop will prematurely go into retirement!

Why, you ask? I’ll tell you why. This guy has never, ever given me anything of value to help me in my marketing efforts. Never a useful tip, never a valuable insight, nothing… Let’s call him Joe Greedy.

Each and every email he sends me, is nothing but a pitch fest. This product, that product, whatever he can get his hands on, he will tell me to buy.

It looks like the quality of the product he recommends is of less importance, as long as he can make a buck. I can tell you right now that this is a typical “here today – gone tomorrow” type of marketer.

We’ve discussed the importance of list building several times, but this is the perfect example of how building a list in itself is NOT enough.

Let me contrast this “horror story” with the following example: I’ve got a “Top 5 List” of newsletters that I really look forward to receiving. Thanks to useful tips and great advice through the years, I am likely to buy whatever these marketers recommend.

Their trust factor is sky high, and my resistance towards making a purchase melts like a snow ball landing on the sun with its 27 million degrees fahrenheit.

Let’s call the marketer I’m reffering to for Mike Value. Mike has got go integrity, and does not recommend everything under the sun. But his rewards are great. Just listen to what happened when he decided to put his seal of approval on a search engine marketing course, by recommending it to his list.

The publisher contacted Mike Value a few weeks later and told him the following in excited tones: “The conversion rate of the people you sent to our site was exponentially higher than all the other internet marketing experts we have ever dealt with. It was in a class by itself.”

As it turned out, Mike made more than all their other Joint Venture partners. This is the true value of having a list. A huge list of let’s say 50 thousand people, can be pretty much worthless, if your readers do not like and trust you.

Let me tell you a little bit more about our friend Mike Value, and you will probably understand why people trust him like their brother. At the end of each week, Mike takes the latest version of his customer list to the bank and puts it in his safety deposit box. Reason being that accidents can happen – power surges, hard drive crashes, fires and so on.

This weekly ritual also serves as a vivid reminder to Mike that his customer list IS his business”, as he puts it.

The weekly depositing serves as a constant reminder that lists require ongoing care and attention. That’s why Mike Value asks himself the following, every Friday, on the way to the bank: “What have I done to enrich my list members this week?”.

Start asking yourself the same question. It’s not that hard. Just make sure you value and respect your readers enough to give them helpful tips along the way. Never recommend a lousy product.

Your readers will begin to trust you, and they will be voting for you with their wallets when you endorse quality products and services down the road.
