I want to share something with you that may transform your prospective about how YOU, the personal brand can be as powerful, or in many cases more powerful than any big business out there. It is possible in the new world of business. In fact, I would venture to say that personal branding may be essential in the new world of business.
You have probably heard of big companies branding themselves to dominate their market. As a small business owner, or someone who is struggling with a new business, the term branding might feel intimidating. And, we focus on simple direct marketing principles, because branding is for the BIG BOYS with deep pockets, right? Wrong.
If you have started a business profile page on a business networking site with your picture on it, then you have started your personal brand. If you have started blogging with a unique prospective of your own, you have started your personal brand.
Blogging has become a platform where most people and businesses create their personal brand. Some bloggers are like rock stars in their market. I’ve seen their power of influence in the market and it’s consumers, first hand.
Recently, while we were looking for ways to grow our publisher base for AdClickMedia.com, we discovered that paid reviews and critique from an influential blogger is probably 10 times better than trade magazine ads or expensive Google ads.
Bloggers make their money from ad revenues, paid reviews, and critiques. I recently invested a total of 10K with several influential bloggers to write a review and critique on AdClickMedia Publisher Network. The reviews are being written as we speak, and I will reveal the results in my future post.
Realistically speaking, the point that I am trying to make is that personal branding is important for the growth of your business, and life.
Where do we start? You’ll be glad to hear that branding is NOT something that you make up significantly for the outside world.
Effective personal branding is based in authenticity. Build your brand in a way that is authentic to YOU. Be yourself. When you are being true to yourself, you are most confident, you are most comfortable, and it translates into something that has incredible value. You are simply aligning who you are with what you do, and how you do it.
